Demetria Lynn

Our host earned a B.S. in Geology after two decades in broadcast media. When she pivoted to geoscience, she didn't leave that career behind; she folded it in and built The Dirt on Earth.

The pivot came from a lifelong pull toward the biggest question there is: why anything exists at all. That's what sent her to geology, looking for answers about the physical nature of the planet.

She started geophysics graduate research in fall 2024. The Dirt on Earth is where it all meets: her background, curiosity, and the perspective that comes from both.
